Closing Ceremony

1:1 Closing Ceremony Apprenticeship
The art of holding women through life’s sacred thresholds
A 3-Day immersion into Ritual & Rites of Passage
Held at my home in Newquay, Cornwall
We once marked the thresholds.
We held the women.
We gathered where endings met beginnings.
Now we move alone -
bleeding, birthing, grieving, rising without witness.
This is a soul-led remembering
of how to hold a woman in the in-between -
no longer who she was,
not yet who she’s becoming,
her body howling for homecoming.
No certificate awaits you here.
You are initiated by ritual,
by the women you lay your hands on & wrap,
by the unwavering gaze you hold,
by the sacred thresholds you lovingly witness.
This is the tender art of presence
with all that is raw, messy, holy and real.

Threshold Tending
A Sacred Wrapping Ritual for Thresholds, Transitions and Rebirth
This is not a traditional Closing of the Bones ceremony. I’ve never referred to what I offer as that.
I am a white woman from Celtic lands. This ritual did not come to me through a specific lineage, though I bow deeply to the cultures and peoples who carry these sacred traditions. We name and honour the origins of the tools we use - especially the rebozo, a woven cloth from Mexico. You will be encouraged to explore your own ancestral rituals.
What I share was birthed through soul remembrance… a thread from the ancestral field that asked to be woven through my hands. This ceremony draws from ancient midwifery gnosis… womb to tomb…
from the wrapping of the dead
to the cocooning of the grieving
to the swaddling of the baby and the binding of the mother.
Across cultures and continents, women have always been wrapped, held and enclosed after major life transitions. Postpartum. Grief. Endings. Identity shifts.
The need to be witnessed and brought back to centre is universal and timeless.
This is a body-led apprenticeship in the art of threshold tending.
Not just for postpartum…
but for all the moments a woman is rebirthed…
through loss, change, identity shifts, trauma, creativity.
This ritual offers a homecoming.
Rites of Passage
Rites of passage honour the significant transitions and thresholds in our lives - moments when we move from one stage of identity or experience into another. These ceremonies help us process change, integrate transformation and receive witnessing and loving support.
Historically, rites of passage were woven into the fabric of community life. Every culture had ceremonies for birth, puberty, marriage, grief, initiation and death. These rituals held profound psychological, emotional and spiritual functions - helping individuals feel seen, held and guided through liminal space, where the old self dissolves and the new self emerges.
Today, many of these rites have been lost or diluted. We often move through life’s major transitions privately or without ceremony, missing vital opportunities for reflection, healing and belonging. Without these sacred markers, changes can feel disorienting, incomplete or isolating. This loss disconnects us from our deeper rhythms, ancestral wisdom and the support of our communities.

Restoring Rites of Passage
WHAT THIS APPRENTICESHIP OFFERS
This apprenticeship is not a fixed step by step method. It is an intuitive, relational transmission; alive, responsive to the moment, rather than a fixed formula. You are not here to copy, you are here to remember. Over three days, you will learn through your body-mind, through presence, through the alchemy of being both held and holding. You will be guided to listen deeply to the woman before you, honour your own lineage, work with sacred tools respectfully and embody ritual through presence, not performance.
You will be guided into:
Threshold tending - how to meet women in their raw, liminal spaces
Creating a ceremonial field for transformation - altars, opening sacred space and energetic hygiene
Whole body rebozo techniques: rocking and wrapping
Womb tending: moxibustion, massage, fascial releases, castor oil pack
Priestess presence - responding to the unfolding moment
You will leave with:
The embodied skill to offer this ceremony in a way that is safe, sacred and your own
A deeper trust in your hands, your body, your intuitive intelligence
A lived initiation into the priestess art of tending to another’s becoming

THE 3-DAY JOURNEY
Each day will run 9.30- 4pm
Day One | Receiving the Ritual
The morning invites you to receive the Closing Ceremony, not as a student but as an initiate. Deeply allowing the ritual to imprint in your body, your bones, your soul.
In the afternoon we journey into the heart of ritual and rites of passage. We will explore the cycles and wheels of womanhood and the art of holding women at their most tender thresholds.
You will learn the language of the rebozo with whole-body rocking. We explore weaving a container and how to shape a ceremonial flow from its opening breath to its closing seal.
Day Two | Womb Tending, Rocking & Wrapping
We move into the chalice of the womb. I will share womb tending techniques: moxibustion, abdominal and womb massage, fascial release and castor oil pack.
Your rebozo rocking and wrapping will deepen becoming an embodied prayer.
We attune to the energetic contours of sacred space — exploring boundaries, witnessing and the invisible threads that hold ceremony.
We also open the conversation around your relationship to money and receiving for this sacred work. I will offer my insights on how to effectively and authentically share and market this medicine work.
Day Three | Offering and Integration
This is your day of sharing all that you have received. You will offer the full Closing Ceremony.
In the afternoon we reflect and integrate. We tend to the soul threads this work has woven within you.
We will explore pre & post-ceremony client care and the importance of tending to your vessel to be able to offer this work.
